Weather forecast for Blackpool, Lake District, Preston and East Lancs by area

Most parts of Lancashire and the Lake District will be affected by heavy rains tomorrow (December 9) following flooding in parts of the county due to Storm Barra.

Most of the county will see showers throughout the day, with a few sunny intervals in places.

The strong wind from Storm Barra appears to have passed, even for the Lake District.

Here is the weather forecast for the areas in and around Lancashire for tomorrow.

Lake district

The weather vagaries in the mountains will no longer be in place on Thursday, with a quieter day expected for the Lake District.

There will be some sunny spells throughout the day with mostly light winds.

Later in the afternoon a band of sleet and rain is expected to spread eastward during the evening – so there may be snow on the higher peaks.


The station will be partly cloudy throughout the day, before changing to heavy rain in the afternoon.

Precipitation is expected to start around 3 p.m. with temperatures of 4 degrees at lunchtime.


Preston is expected to be cloudy throughout the day – changing to sunny intervals by lunchtime.

Heavy rains are expected to return around 3 p.m. and continue through the evening.

Temperatures will be 4 degrees.


Light rain will continue in Lancaster overnight and through Thursday morning.

The rain is expected to become cloudy in the late morning with a temperature of five degrees at noon.

Blackburn with Darwen

There is a drier day ahead for Blackburn tomorrow with overcast weather until the weather passes at sunny intervals at lunchtime.

Heavy rains are expected to return in the early evening, continuing until the early hours of Friday morning.

The sun is expected to rise around 8:15 am and sunset around 3:49 pm.

The temperature will be 3 degrees.
