WATCH: Morecambe boxer Tyson Fury opens new restaurant in Lancaster

Retired heavyweight champion boxer Tyson Fury cuts the ribbon at the grand opening of a restaurant in Lancashire.

Tyson cut the ribbon at the new Sultan of Lancaster Experience restaurant on Caton Road, Lancaster.

This is the second branch of the restaurant, the first being located on the Lancaster University site.

Tyson, who lives in Morecambe with his family, also gave a short speech before officially cutting the red ribbon.

In his speech, he even talked about his candidacy for prime minister.

He said: “Here we are at this grand opening of the Sultan Experience restaurant. I want to say thank you to everyone who came today.

“Remember to vote for me in 2030 as Prime Minister of the UK – vote Fury.

“[Sultan’s] is now officially open to everyone.

According to a spokesperson for the sultan, Tyson has been a fan of the company since he was 18 and visits the site frequently.

He made headlines after visiting his father, John, and brother, Tommy, in September 2020.

A Sultans spokesperson said: ‘We have opened a new store on Caton Road in Lancaster, with our first store being at Lancaster University which has been open for 15 years.

“From this store we will deliver food to Lancaster, Morecambe, Heysham and all surrounding areas; you can also come and eat.

“Tyson has been coming to Sultans since he was young.

“He is a friend of the family and he is always ready to support us and the local businesses.

“He comes quite often and sometimes just drops by to say hello and see how we are all doing.

“Truly the champion of the peoples!”.

The Sultan of Lancaster Experience offers a range of hot and cold dishes including pizzas, curries, kebabs, burgers and more.

They also cater to the foodie, selling milkshakes, cookie dough, cheesecakes and more.
