After weeks of good weather, high temperatures and heat waves, it looks like summer is well and truly over.
The Met Office has predicted thunderstorms will hit parts of east Lancashire and other parts of the UK later this week.
They issued a yelloq weather warning for parts of the UK today (September 5) and Tuesday. but although the warning does not cover Lancashire, the county is still expected to be hit by heavy rain and storms.
The week is expected to start cloudy but dry before thunderstorms hit later in the week.

According to the Met Office at the time of writing (5 September), Blackburn along with Darwen is the only area in East Lancashire to have thunderstorms in East Lancashire.
They are currently expected to hit Wednesday afternoon around 1 p.m.
