Organizers were “blown away” by the generosity during a Christmas call from the food bank this weekend.
The eighth annual Locals Helping Locals for Christmas event took place on November 26 at Sandcastle Water Park, when kind-hearted people brought bags of food while enjoying festive live music.
BBC radio Lancashire presenter Hayley Kay hosted the event. She said: âI was once again speechless at the generosity of the Fylde Coast. The event was a huge success. “
Donations came from individuals and local businesses, including Sandcastle Water Park, Hy Hotels, Blackpool Sixth Form and the Friends of Solaris Center.
Neil Reid, President of the Blackpool Food Bank, said: âThese articles will go a long way in helping the most vulnerable in our community over the coming months. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this event. ‘
