Teenagers hit and robbed of £350, iPhone XR and Gucci bag

A teenager was hit with a baseball bat following a ‘vicious and nasty’ street robbery in Darwen.

He was one of two boys from Bolton who were approached by a group of seven to 10 people around 5.20pm on December 30 on Richmond Terrace.

The boys aged 16 and 14 were then threatened before being assaulted.

The older of the two boys was punched and beaten with a baseball bat, suffering a chipped tooth and a suspected broken nose. The second victim was punched and had a space gray iPhone XR, £350 cash and a Gucci bag stolen.

Both boys had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

One of the suspects is described as between 25 and 30 years old, wearing a gray coat, a black neck warmer and a black man’s bag.

Police are appealing for information and urging anyone who may have seen anything to come forward.

Detective Constable Amelia Warren, of Blackburn Police, said: ‘This was a vicious and wicked robbery which injured both boys.

“We are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

“Did you see a group in the neighborhood, or two boys being threatened? If so, please contact the police.
