Teenage Ross among the best in Blackpool competition

A teenager from Ross-on-Wye celebrates after finishing in the top three of a national dance competition.

Isabella Long took part in the Champions of Tomorrow event at the world famous Blackpool Dance Festival over the weekend of January 8-9 at the iconic Blakpool Winter Gardens.

The nationally televised competition attracts a large class of dancers from some of the UK’s top dance schools.

Despite the fierce competition, Isabella competing with her partner Liliana Kovacik finished 3rd in the Under 14 All Girls Ballroom Waltz, Tango, Quickstep contest and also managed to secure 5th place in the Under 14 All Girls Latin Cha Cha Cha, Rumba.

Isabella is part of South Wales dance school Dance Crazy Studios and is sponsored by local companies Tracy and Chloe Nails. Opened in 2002 by director Joanne Crane, over the years Dance Crazy Studios has established a reputation as one of the largest and most successful dance schools in the UK.

Speaking to the Ross Gazette, Isabella’s father, Robert Long, said: “I am delighted that Isabella has done so well in such a prestigious competition competing with other top dancers. She works so tough and I’m very proud of everything she’s achieved.”
