Sky Sports expert David Prutton predicts scoring outcome as Blackburn Rovers host Peterborough United

The Blackburn Rovers hope to make even more progress towards the Championship playoffs tomorrow night when Peterborough United visit Ewood Park.

The Lancashire club are currently two points behind QPR in sixth and have been in and around the top six in the division throughout this campaign.

Regardless of a 7-0 home loss to Fulham in October, Blackburn has been strong contenders at home, averaging 1.89 PPG at Ewood Park.

Peterborough is currently in 22nd place and is in the relegation zone due to the goal difference.

Posh failed to start after back-to-back wins last month, collecting a single point in their last four games.

Tomorrow’s visitors have lost eight of their nine away games this season – a record that must be settled if they are to stay in the league beyond this campaign.

By posting his score prediction via his Sky Sports column, David Prutton believes Blackburn will be a 2-0 winner.

The verdict

Blackburn deserves the challenge near the playoffs this season, and although they were hit with plenty of injuries early in this campaign, the fringe players came in and impressed.

The Rovers will see it as a game they need to win if they want to make the playoffs this season, but the Championship is a very difficult division to examine.

Peterborough’s only away win came against a struggling Hull City side, which means they’ll need to put in a great performance to compete with a team like Blackburn.
