Senator Marsha Blackburn Sends Letter to CDC Officials Criticizing Novak Djokovic’s COVID Ban – OutKick

Government-imposed discrimination against the “unvaccinated” continues to be a significant problem in the United States and elsewhere.

Just recently, new details emerged about Canada’s ban on unvaccinated citizens and foreign travelers, showing that public health and government officials had no scientific basis to justify their policy, only motivations. policies:

NEW INFORMATION SHOWS CANADA’S BAN ON UNVACCINED TRAVELERS IS BASED IN POLICY, NOT SCIENCE

Now, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn has written a letter demanding similar responses from CDC Director Rochelle Walensky regarding entry into the United States:

This has become increasingly relevant as the US Open approaches and unvaccinated tennis superstar Novak Djokovic is still barred from entering the country.

The US Open recently announced that Djokovic would not be able to play in the next tournament, in a decision Clay Travis called a “mockery of science”.

In a letter exclusively addressed to OutKickSenator Blackburn detailed that the organizers of the US Open are being forced to exclude Djokovic due to “problematic” government policy:

“While ‘the US Open does not have a vaccination mandate in place for players’, the tournament ‘will respect the position of the US government regarding travel to the country for unvaccinated non-US citizens’.

“The Djokovic news highlights the CDC’s problematic policy that one must ‘be fully vaccinated with the primary series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine to travel to the United States by air if you are not a U.S. citizen.'”

She went on to explain that by continuing to enforce this ban, the administration is imposing what amounts to a “pandemic forever”:

“By banning Novak Djokovic from the US Open, the Biden administration is making it clear that they would like to impose a ‘pandemic forever’.”

The letter also pointed out the considerable hypocrisy involved in official policies; as the CDC and the President have no problem with migrants entering the country without documenting their COVID vaccination status:

“However, the hypocrisy of this power grab is clear. Illegal immigrants can cross the border without proof of vaccination or negative COVID tests, but Djokovic cannot fly to the United States and compete in the US Open.

Senator Blackburn also joined Tomi Lahren to discuss the letter and Djokovic’s ban.

Of course, she is absolutely right to criticize the CDC and the Biden administration for their hypocrisy and unscientific ban on unvaccinated travelers entering the country.

It is an undisputed fact that COVID vaccines do not stop the spread of the virus. Countries with extraordinarily high vaccination rates have broken case records after reaching wide spread, even when similar travel bans are in place.

Canada, for example, saw cases increase by 1,344% in just a month and a half after imposing vaccine passports on travel across the country.

There is no conclusive justification for continuing to discriminate against travelers on the basis of vaccination status. It’s a decision made entirely to avoid admitting that the initial rationale for the policy was hopelessly incorrect.

The fact that the CDC and the administration showed no concern over the record wave of border crossings is another example of their unwavering hypocrisy.

A single unvaccinated tennis player, who has already had COVID, is something of a danger to the health and safety of the United States, but hundreds of thousands of people entering the country without a verification process are apparently all quite acceptable.

Even more absurdly, Djokovic took part in the US Open last year and reached the final of the tournament, despite being unvaccinated. But soon after, even as more data showed that vaccinated people could easily contract and spread the virus, the CDC and the Biden administration dramatically tightened their entry policies.

This led to this absurd situation, where a year later it’s somehow more dangerous to let the same person participate in the same tournament.

Now, to avoid acknowledging failure, the bans continue, long after any potential justification has long passed. As the letter points out, there is no other explanation than wanting to promote the concept of an eternal pandemic, where the influence and advice of the CDC retains a newfound relevance.

Djokovic should undoubtedly be allowed to enter the country, like any other unvaccinated traveler.

Although the CDC has given no indication that it is willing to reconsider its offensive ban, Senator Blackburn’s letter demanding answers will at least draw more attention and put more pressure on government officials to begin finally to follow the real science.
