Sports Mole preview Wednesday’s Club Friendlies 1 clash between Dundee and Blackburn Rovers, including predictions, team news and possible line-ups.
Blackburn Rovers continue their preparations for the new league campaign with a meeting against Dundee Wednesday night.
Rovers will take part in their first 90-minute contest of the summer, while their opponents will take part in their fourth game of the month.
The Blackburn hierarchy having taken its time to replace Tony Mowbray with Jon DahlTomassonthe club’s pre-season schedule only started at the weekend.
Instead of playing a traditional 90-minute game with Accrington Stanley, two 60-minute games were played, their opponents winning 1-0 in the first before Blackburn won the second by a score of 2-0.
Tomasson and his side would have gotten what they needed in the afternoon, but the real work now begins with games against Dundee and Celtic in quick succession.
As things stand, Tomasson are working with a somewhat depleted squad with four first-team members having left Ewood Park to be replaced by youngster Preston North End. Ethan Walker.
However, that will no doubt change over the next few weeks as Rovers once again look to challenge for the Championship play-offs.
Dundee currently find themselves negotiating a schedule where they will play pre-season friendlies at the same time as they take part in the Scottish League Cup.
In terms of friendlies, a 4-0 win at Peterhead was followed by a 1-1 draw with Montrose, giving the recently relegated side a few well-deserved minutes before a competitive encounter with Hamilton Academical.
Gary BowerThe team secured a 3-0 triumph in that game, a result that put them in position to mount a solid bid for the second round.
While a number of players were released at the end of last season, Zak Rudden and Tyler French arrived from Partick Thistle and Wrexham respectively.

We say: Dundee 2-1 Blackburn Rovers
Under normal circumstances, Blackburn would be favored to win this contest, but their lack of fitness cannot be ignored. Dundee are more in the know, leading us to predict a narrow win for the Scottish side.
