Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder has said there has been a lot of interest this summer for Ryan Giles after the former Blackburn Rovers loanee was snapped up for the upcoming season.
The 22-year-old spent the second half of last campaign on loan at Rovers from Premier League Wolves. He had spent the first part of the season at his other Championship club, Cardiff City.
Giles featured 11 times after joining the club from Ewood Park as Tony Mowbray’s side dropped out of the hunt for the Championship play-off spots. He returned to Molineux this summer.

But Giles will spend a full season in the Championship at the same club after Boro confirmed his capture for the duration of the campaign. Like Rovers, the Riverside Stadium side finished just outside the top six last season.
Boro boss Wilder is happy to have the left-handed player on loan for the whole of the upcoming campaign. He has highlighted interest in the Wolves winger from elsewhere this summer and believes both the club and the player are doing well.
Wilder said: “We are delighted to have brought Ryan on. There was a lot of interest in him and it’s great that we were able to bring him here.
“He’s a player we know well, he’s young and he’s an exciting talent.
“He already has a lot of experience at this level and knows the league. I think we’re well placed for Ryan and we’re really looking forward to working with him.”
