EVERTON are reportedly interested in signing Burnley defender James Tarkowski during the summer.
Tarkowski is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a move away from Turf Moor.
The Toffees are reportedly looking for a proven Premier League centre-back if they avoid relegation to the Championship.
A Football Insider report claims the Merseyside club watched Tarkowski in last weekend’s 1-0 win over Wolves.
The defender joined the Clarets from Brentford in 2016 and has made over 200 appearances for the club.
He has formed an effective partnership with Nathan Collins in recent weeks, with Ben Mee sidelined through injury.
Newcastle and West Ham have also been linked with the 29-year-old, who made his England debut against Italy in 2018.
Tarkowski could be in action this afternoon as the Clarets take on Watford at Vicarage Road in a vital fixture in the relegation battle.
Mike Jackson’s men are out of the bottom three after back-to-back home wins over Southampton and Wolves.
Burnley are two points clear of Everton going into this afternoon’s game but the Toffees have a game in hand.
