Chopstix Darwen is giving away 100 boxes of free noodles

A noodle bar is giving away 10,000 free meals to celebrate National Noodle Day tomorrow.

And to commemorate the day in East Lancashire, Chopstix is handing out 100 boxes of free noodles to the first customers through the doors of its M65 service site on Thursday 6 October.

More than 50 stores across the country are taking part in the celebrations, with Chopstix supporting customers as the cost of living crisis continues to impact consumers.

Chopstix fans in Blackburn and Darwen will have a chance to grab a free box of small noodles, from the M65 junction four store, with 5,000 boxes of noodles available for the first 100 customers in over 50 stores across the UK .

Chopstix Marketing Director Rob Burns said: “The past few years have been a difficult time for people across the UK and now the cost of living crisis is putting more and more people under continued pressure.

“We wanted to do something to mark National Noodle Day that would seek to make even a small difference and give people something to smile about.

“We are both delighted and proud to be able to donate 10,000 boxes of noodles to people across the UK in these uncertain times…and everyone loves noodles, right?”

The initiative is part of Chopstix’s ongoing ‘Noodle Aid’ campaign which aims to deliver free noodles to a number of towns and locations across the UK.

Noodle Aid was officially launched in Manchester in 2020, when 400 food parcels were delivered to residences at Manchester Metropolitan University to feed self-isolating students stuck in their flats.

Arriving in style, a vintage WWII tank dropped off 400 food parcels, along with the Noodle Aid platoon dressed in full military gear.

Since then, Noodle Aid has visited a number of towns across the country to distribute free noodles.

To claim a free box of noodles on Thursday 6 October, customers will need to download the free voucher by following the link – www.chopstixnoodles.co.uk/noodleday.

Chopstix has also partnered with Your Local Pantry, which operates 80 community food centers across the country, to donate 5,000 food vouchers which will be shared equally among 80 of their neighborhood food centers across the UK.

James Henderson of Your Local Pantry said, “The Your Local Pantry network is growing rapidly as more and more communities see the value and success of the approach. Maximizing member choice is always important to us, so we are very happy and grateful to be able to partner with Chopstix in this way.
