Burnley town center classic car show has a new date

The BURNLEY Classic Car Show has been revamped after the original event was postponed out of respect for the late Queen Elizabeth II.

It will now take place on Saturday, September 24.

It was previously scheduled to take place on September 10 until news of the monarch’s death broke.

Taking place in the city center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors will be able to view a range of unique and historic vehicles from yesteryear.

The DeLorean from the ‘Back to the Future’ movies will be on display alongside a Jeep from ‘Jurassic Park’

The Burnley Alliance Silver Band is ready to entertain the crowds in the afternoon and the Rotary Club of Burnley stand will be holding a competition to win supercar driving experience.

Exhibitors from across the North West of England are due to come to the show organized by Burnley Business Improvement District (BID) with support from Burnley Council, Charter Walk and the Rotary Club of Burnley.

Burnley BID project manager Andrew Dean said: “We had to make a difficult decision to postpone the first event as it was only 24 hours away at the time, but we felt that was the only course of action that we could take in the light of the circumstances.

“Saturday, September 24 is shaping up to be a great day for the whole family.”
