Burnley ‘shot’ Beyer, Middlesbrough start talks with Akpom

Burnley are flying atop the Championship, now on a four game winning streak.

Burnley may not have a buy option on Jordan Beyer’s loan. Borussia Mönchengladbach have ‘not confirmed’ that the Clarets have the option of keeping the loan star, and it is claimed Beyer could well return to Germany this summer when his loan deal expires. (PR online via SportWitness)

Middlesbrough are in talks with Chuba Akpom over a new contract before his current deal expires in the summer. Boro boss Michael Carrick said: “We’ve talked before, it’s natural, you have to have a plan. It’s very early days but you get the idea quickly. It’s up to me and the club to plan, the better people play, the easier it is.(The Echo of the North)

Sunderland are reportedly interested in Aston Villa star Morgan Sanson. Sanson has played sparingly for Villa for the past year or so, and looks unlikely to manage a resurgence under Unai Emery. The Black Cats are reportedly interested, but a loan deal seems more likely. (Football Fan Distribution)

Hull City are said to be considering a move for Grimsby Town defender Anthony Glennon. Glennon is said to be impressive for Grimsby in League Two, and he has emerged as a target for the Tigers ahead of the January transfer window. Glennon is a former Liverpool academy player. (Pete O’Rourke)
