Burnley injury news and line-up planned for Premier League clash with Manchester United

Burnley are set to be without three senior players for their Premier League game against Manchester United – but Sean Dyche could still name an unchanged starting XI.

Having won once all season, the Clarets are anchored at the bottom of the table amid the ongoing relegation battle with Newcastle, Watford and Norwich City.

They drew 0-0 with the Hornets when they returned to the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Charlie Taylor (foot), Johann Gudmundsson (illness) and Matej Vydra (hernia) were absent against Watford as their manager Dyche ruled them out again for tonight’s meeting with United at Turf Moor (8pm).

Burnley striker Ashley Barnes has made progress on his issue, however, and could enter the fray.

January signing Wout Weghorst made his Dyche debut last time out as he linked up with Maxwel Cornet.

Aside from this three-pronged dilemma in the attacking quarters, the other main question the Burnley manager has to answer is whether or not to recall Matt Lowton at right-back amid competition from Connor. Roberts – who started the draw against Watford.

In his final pre-match press conference, Dyche said: “We’re actively looking at the group and seeing how we can change things up and shape things slightly differently to give them an edge or a feel, that’s the way to go. interest in having a team.

“We can all pick a team, put it on paper and work with it in training, but finding those connections in a performance sometimes works quickly and sometimes takes a bit of work.”

Composition predicted by Burnley (4-4-2): Pope; Roberts, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters; Lennon, Westwood, Stephens, McNeil; Weghorst, Cornet.
