Blackpool’s very first Winter Pride to take place this weekend

Blackpool’s very first Winter Pride event is set to take place this weekend in the iconic Winter Gardens.

The Blackpool Pride Committee announced this morning that the one-day celebration will take place on November 6 with an entertainment lineup that will appeal to everyone.

The full-day event will be open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., with the main entertainment centered around the Pavilion and the Old Victoria Bar.

The full list of acts is expected to be posted online soon. There will also be up to 40 stalls selling a variety of pride related products as well as essential information and education services located in the horseshoe area.

Winter Pride is a first for Blackpool, and they will also introduce a new Youth Pride area dedicated to young people in Blackpool who have set up a range of entertainment themselves, as well as other stalls.

Tickets for the full-day event are just £ 2.50 and children under 12 are free. Tickets are required for the event to be Covid security compliant.

As the event begins in the early evening, the newly refurbished Spanish Suite will host the Pride Blackpool Ball.

It starts at 7 pm and will continue until midnight with a theme “The circus meets the burlesque” at Cabaret Bizarre.

An early bird deal includes a welcome drink on arrival, a three-course meal and an entertainment list for £ 35. Also, tables of 10 should only cover the cost of nine people. These offers will only be valid for a few days, so those hoping to get to the prom at a reduced price are encouraged to order their tickets in advance.

The standard ticket price is £ 45 and the Pride Blackpool Ball is an event for over 18s only. Those who purchase an evening ticket will automatically have access to the daytime event around the Pavilion and Old Victoria Bar.

This being our first Winter Pride, we wanted to do something different from what you usually expect on a summer pride. The animation of the ball will be a mixture of circus acts, burlesque dancers and singers. A full line-up will be released very soon.

Paul Dewick Day, President of Pride Blackpool, said: “We are eager to show you what we have put together and I would just like to thank the entire Pride Blackpool committee, our sponsors and supporters who without them this would not be possible. . Please visit our website for information on all of these and to purchase your Pride Blackpool Winter Pride tickets! “
