Blackburn woman caught having sex on grassy edge after trying to break into cars

A woman was caught having sex with a man on a grassy edge after trying to break into cars, a court has heard.

Corallena Loveridge, from Blackburn, was spotted in the act by a witness who called the police fearing she was the victim of a sexual assault, with officers having to break off their lovemaking.

Magistrates heard that before the couple in love began mating on the grass outside people’s homes, the pair had tried to break into cars as they walked down Otterburn Road in the city.

Peter Kelly, prosecuting, told Blackburn Magistrates’ Court that police were initially called by a man who saw the couple trying to open the car doors on March 3 last year, the DailyStar reports .

Shortly after, the female witness looked outside and saw the couple having sex on a lawn in front of her house.

He said: “At first she feared for the welfare of the woman, but it became clear that she was a willing participant.

“When officers arrived they had to halt the activity and they said it was clear the defendant was intoxicated.”

She said she was sorry and embarrassed about what happened and agreed that if she had witnessed it, she would have been shocked as well.

Loveridge pleaded guilty to outrage of public decency, interference with a vehicle and failure to comply with post-sentence supervision.

She was given a one-year community ordinance sentence, as well as an eight-week curfew from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

She was also ordered to pay £50 compensation for the distress caused to the female witness and a victim surcharge of £95, as well as a fine of £80 for failing to comply with post-sentence supervision.
