The return of more options, particularly in attack, has been welcomed by Tony Mowbray who says it will give him the chance to rotate some of his players amid fatigue concerns.
Sam Gallagher and Tyrhys Dolan bolstered the attacking ranks with their returns for the midweek defeat at West Bromwich Albion and both will be in contention for a starting spot at West Bromwich Albion.
It comes as Ben Brereton remains goalless for Rovers in 2022, his trips with Chile ruling him out of matches with Middlesbrough and Luton Town, while Mowbray did not feel he was ready to start against Swansea City.
The 22-year-old has already played more football this season than last and has gone uninterrupted this summer due to his international commitments.
John Buckley has also played more minutes this season than throughout his senior career, with 18 straight starts, while midfield duo Lewis Travis and Joe Rothwell have been regular starters.
Mowbray had wondered if his team could maintain their level of intensity and said: “Brereton played so much football and then left and played two more international games.
“The forward run was starting to hit Ben, but it’s very hard to let your top scorer go when he needs a break.
“At some point, as long as we have other options, and we will have other options if we can keep people fit, we will have options to move things around as the season unfolds.
“Right now we will continue to ride with it.”
With Gallagher Dolan now back, as well as January additions Ryan Hedges and Ryan Giles, Rovers have options to turn attacking into something Mowbray will consider, especially after three successive games without a goal.
“We didn’t have the opportunity to change things, especially in the front areas of the pitch, to give the players a break,” he added.
“The options are starting to come back and that’s something we’re going to look at to keep people fresh.
“The question at one point may seem relevant, but if you go back a few weeks, we had no attackers.
“The loss of Brereton, Gallagher, Dolan, they are important players for us as they have shown all season.
“Now they are back in the question which gives us more options.”
