Blackburn Rovers defenseman Dan Pike returns to AFC Fylde

Blackburn Rovers defenseman Dan Pike has returned to AFC Fylde on loan.

Blackburn Rovers announced the decision on his club’s official website.

Pike, 19, is back in the non-league squad with a deal until Jan.16.

He made four appearances for the Jim Bentley outfit earlier this season.

Blackburn gave him the green light to head to the exit door again to allow him to have more games under his belt over the holiday season.

Graduated from the Academy

Pike is a product of the Rovers Academy who rose through the ranks on the Lancashire side.

He first broke into their Under-18 squad and has been a regular at the Under-23s lately.

Tony Mowbray’s team handed him a new deal last summer, which suggests they still see him as a future.

Pike has yet to make a senior appearance for Blackburn, but it’s a name for their fans to keep an eye on down the line.

Temporary house

Fylde is currently 2nd in the National Northern League under former Morecambe boss Bentley.

They have won 11 of their first 17 games this quarter and are behind the Brackley Town tree top before Christmas.

The Coasters have a few former Football League players in their ranks these days, such as Danny Philliskirk, Chris Neal and Stephen Dobbie.
