Gibraltar international Louie Annesley ended his debut for Blackburn Rovers senior team in the Carabao Cup with high praise after an injury-time goal block on the goal line that secured Blackburn’s passage to the round following the competition.
The young Gibraltar defender, after three years with the club in their academy ranks, received a senior call-up and was in the top 11 of their Carabao Cup tie against Bradford City.
A 2-1 away win secured Blackburn Rovers’ passage to the next round.
Annesley is set to be part of the Gibraltar national team which will prepare to play against Bulgaria and Georgia at the end of September in the last two Nations League C group matches. Gibraltar is set to head into the play-outs which will decide who teams are relegated to League D after failing to grab points so far.
