A memorial service for babies and children will be held at West Lancashire Crematorium

The chaplaincy team and mourning midwives at Ormskirk hospital hold a memorial service each December

Submitted by Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust

The chaplaincy team and grieving midwives at Ormskirk Hospital hold a memorial service every December for anyone who has suffered the loss of a baby or child.

Due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions, regular service is not possible in the hospital’s baby garden.

Instead, the service will take place at the West Lancashire Crematorium and will be conducted by members of the hospital team accompanied by the Salvation Army Orchestra and local singers.

There will be a remembrance Christmas tree, and parents will be invited to put baubles with the name of their baby or child that will be lovingly remembered on the tree. The balls will then be moved to the baby garden at Ormskirk hospital.

Please contact the Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy Team if you would like to write your loved one’s name on a ball and hang it on the tree in Ormskirk Hospital Baby Garden or Reflection Garden in Ormskirk. Southport Hospital.

Email [email protected] or call 01704 704639.

You can also contact Jo Unsworth, grieving midwife at [email protected] or call 01704 705358.

The service, recalling a loss at any time, will take place at West Lancashire Crematorium on Wednesday 8 December at 6.30 p.m. There will be light refreshments on arrival.
